
Vipers Add All-Star

The Calgary Vipers Professional Baseball Club have signed infielder Jimmy Rohan for the upcoming 2011 North American League season. The 26-year-old was a Golden Baseball League All-Star last year with the Orange County Flyers as he led the league in hits (125), finished seventh in runs scored (70), eighth in the league in batting average (.364), eighth in runs batted in (67), 11th in games played (84), and 12th in doubles (22). He also finished near the top of the league in fewest strikeouts with only 32 in 343 at-bats. Rohan enters his tenth professional season after two years in Orange County and seven seasons in affiliated baseball. The Santa Clarita, California resident was signed out of high school by the Los Angeles Dodgers and progressed through their minor league system all the way to the AAA level.
The Vipers will be holding a media conference on Monday May 9th at 12:00 pm at Foothills Stadium with all partners and friends invited.
Spring Training will be held at the preseason home of the San Francisco Giants in Scottsdale, Arizona at Scottsdale Stadium starting on Saturday May 14th.
Calgary starts the 2011 regular season on the road in Yuma, Arizona on Tuesday May 24th with a double-header against Jose Canseco and the Scorpions.
The Vipers return to Calgary and Foothills Stadium for their home opener on Thursday May 26th at 6:30 PM MDT against their Alberta rivals, the Edmonton Capitals.
