BUFFALO, N.Y. - The NLL today announced that Buffalo Bandits goaltender Matt Vinc has been selected as the league's Goaltender of the Year. The award was voted on by team executives from each franchise that participated in the 2018-19 season.

This marks the seventh time in the last decade that Vinc has been named the league's top goaltender, having also won the award in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2018. No other goaltender has won the award more than twice since it was first presented in 2002. He is the first Bandit to earn the Goaltender of the Year Award since Ken Montour in 2009.

Vinc finished the 2018-19 season leading the league in goals-against average (10.02) and ranked second in save percentage (.803). His 14-4 record this season topped the NLL, with his 14 wins setting both a new career high for him and Bandits' franchise record for wins by a goaltender a single season. Vinc amassed 705 saves this season, which ranks second in franchise history and fifth in league history. He started all 18 regular-season games for the Bandits en route to setting new all-time league record for career saves (7,823) and minutes (11,996) by a goaltender.

The St. Catharines, Ontario native backstopped the Bandits to one of the most successful seasons in franchise history, winning a franchise-record 14 games and seven road games. The team allowed a league-low 186 goals through the regular season, which is the fewest they've allowed since the NLL expanded its regular season to 18 games in 2014.

Vinc's historic career spans 13 seasons, having previously spent time with the San Jose Stealth, New York/Orlando Titans and Rochester Knighthawks before singing as a free agent with the Bandits prior to the 2018-19 season. He's won an NLL-record 112 regular-season games and holds a career 10.79 goals-against average and .784 save percentage.
