
Victory on and off the field for Wave school day game

MILWAUKEE (December 20, 2006) - The Wave's 34-6 victory over the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) St. Louis Swanner United sent the Wave's excited young fans home happy. As part of the Making Waves program, the Wave competed in front of many southeastern Wisconsin students.
Tijani Ayegbusi got the Wave on the board first while Marcio Leite, Marcelo Santos, and Marcelo Fontana followed with 2-point goals to shutout the first quarter 8-0. The second quarter highlighted the Wave offensive attack, closing the quarter at 20-0.
The Wave continued the pressure in the second half with seven additioanl goals. The Swanners capitalized twice on the attack in the second half with three goals in the third quarter. The final score was a commanding 34-6 Wave victory.
Goalkeeper, Kyle Trimble, made his Wave debut and shutout the Swanners in the first half and allowed only three goals in the second half. The School Day Game also featured some Milwaukee Armada players on the roster.
Each student received a curriculum designed to combine soccer with education. The students also participated in interactive booths set up throughout the US Cellular Arena with an appearance from Radio Disney during the game and halftime.
The Milwaukee Wave resumes league play on the traditional New Year's Eve game. The Wave will challenge the Philadelphia KiXX on December 31 at 4:05pm.
