Victoria Seals News Release

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Seals are proud to announce that they have traded Caonabo Cosme (INF) back to the Calgary Vipers in exchange for former Golden Baseball League Rookie of the Year Colin Moro (OF/1B).

Cosme was originally dealt to Victoria in October as part of the deal that sent Isaac Hess, Wilver Perez and Championship Series MVP Sergio Pedroza to Calgary late in the 2009 season.

"This is a fantastic deal for both our organization and the Vipers," said Seals President Darren Parker. "We are excited to have Colin join our club for the upcoming season, where he will provide both instant offense and top notch defence in the outfield."

Moro has had an electric two seasons since making his GBL debut in the summer of 2008. As a key member of the Vipers in his rookie season, the Calgary native posted a .325 batting average while anchoring the outfield at Foothills Stadium.

Last year, Moro stepped up his effort by finishing third overall with a .376 batting average, while posting 65 runs batted in and adding 61 runs scored in 74 games played. Collecting nine hits in eight playoff games, the 2009 All-Star was a standout player on the Golden Baseball League Champion Vipers one season ago.

The 2010 Victoria Seals season kicks off May 21 when the brand new Na Ikaika Koa Maui arrive at Royal Athletic Park. Both single game and season tickets for the 2010 campaign are now on sale, available online at www.victoriaseals.ca or through the Select Your Tickets box office.
