Victoria, BC – The Canadian Tour's Times Colonist Open will feature a new sponsor in 2005, the ECHL's Victoria Salmon Kings.

"The Victoria Salmon Kings were welcomed with open arms by the sporting community here in Victoria and we in turn want to help other high-impact sporting events continue to be successful as well," said Ken Noakes, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Victoria Salmon Kings. He added, "we're thrilled to be part of this nationally recognized sporting event and look forward to our partnership with a quality event like the Times Colonist Open."

The Salmon Kings are sponsoring the caddies this season and are using this opportunity to help unveil the new team logo. "The caddies are the hardest working guys out there, just like our players, so it's a great fit," said Salmon Kings coach Bryan Maxwell.

The caddies will display the new logo, a tighter version of the ‘classic' Fish and Crown logo. "We put our heads together at the end of the season and tried to make the logo more flexible as a marketing tool. At the same time we wanted to respect the original look. I think we achieved both," said Noakes.

The Victoria Salmon Kings will release the 2005-06 version of their logo and uniform during the Sponsor Recognition event for the Times-Colonist Open at the Laurel Point Inn on Wednesday June 15, 2005 at 7:30pm.
