Vibes Lose in Ogden, Shut out for First Time

Rocky Mountain Vibes News Release

OGDEN, Utah - Yohandry Perez pitched well once again but took the loss as the Vibes were shutout for the first time this season by the score of 3-0.

The Raptors, who came into the game with a magic number of "1", clinched a first half championship with the win tonight (Again, pay no attention to my headline and my math from two days ago, I was not exactly a trigonometry major when I was at Arizona State).

The game was scoreless heading into the bottom of the third when the only damage of the game for either side occurred. Pat Adams struck for a two-run home run and Freddy Achecar followed up later in the inning with an RBI double. That was it for offense on both sides.

For Perez, he turned in a night of 7.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, and a tough luck loss. He now has a record of 3-2.

The closest the Vibes got to a run tonight was in the sixth inning when they had second and third and two out but were unable to bring those runners home. The combination of Christian Day, Haden Erbe, and Jackson Lancaster kept Rocky Mountain off the board, scattering six hits over 27 outs.

The Vibes were one of four teams to score in every game this season until tonight. Remaining shutout-less now are Billings, Idaho Falls, and Missoula.

With both divisions now officially wrapped up, the other eight teams will set their sights on a second half championship or a wild card spot.
