Atlanta Vibe News Release
ATLANTA, Ga. - The Atlanta Vibe (11-4) took down the San Diego Mojo (3-7) Saturday night in another three-set sweep at Gas South Arena - the Vibe's sixth of the season. The win helps the Vibe hold on to first place in the Pro Volleyball Federation standings.
Atlanta has yet to drop even a single set to San Diego in each of their three meetings so far this season. Holding the Mojo to a .120 hitting percentage - the same low hitting percentage the Vibe held the Columbus Fury to earlier this week - the Vibe earned their second-straight sweep of the week. It was the first time this season head coach Todd Dagenais was able to play every athlete on the roster.
Middle blocker Shelly Fanning led the team with four blocks, libero Morgan Hentz tallied 14 digs, and outside hitter Leah Edmond led with 12 kills. Middle blocker Magdalena Jehláøová. Hit at a .600 clip (six kills on 10 attempts) - a new team-season-high.
Playing clean, Atlanta only recorded four total hitting errors, the fewest the team has seen in a match this season. Atlanta's service pressure also forced the Mojo out of system as the home team totaled five aces tonight to San Diego's single ace.
The Vibe now head to Grand Rapids to face the Rise on Monday, April 1, and return for their next home match on Saturday, April 13 to celebrate ATL Day. Tickets for the ATL Day match and all remaining Vibe matches are available at AtlantaVibe.com.
Notes
Atlanta remains at the top of the PVF rankings with the win with an 11-4 record.
The team's six sweeps are the most of any team in the league this year.
Saturday's match was the first time every active player on the roster checked in to the match.
The Vibe tallied a season-low four hitting errors.
