Vermont Takes Down No. 1 Manchester For First Time

Burlington, VT--The Vermont Frost Heaves ran past the No. 1 team in the ABA Power Rankings, the Manchester Millrats, 133-107 Monday night at Memorial Auditorium.

Vermont was led by Antonio Burks, who scored 24 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, and added six rebounds. The Frost Heaves had eight players score in double figures: Erik Nelson (17); B.J. Robertson (17); Issa Konare (17); Dwuan Rice (13 to go with nine assists); Dwayne Lee (11), Dokun Akingbade (11); and Terrance Green (10 along with seven assists). Chris Cayole scored two dunks in the final 21 seconds, including a crowd-pleasing alley-oop right before the buzzer.

Anthony Anderson took home 30 points, five boards and six assists for the Millrats. With the loss Manchester falls to 11-2.

The Frost Heaves (10-2) will next face Montreal Royal at Centre Pierre Charbonneau on Friday, Dec. 21. Vermont will return to Burlington on Dec. 22 to take on the Quebec Kebekwa. Tip is set for 2:05 p.m.
