Valour FC Inks Canadian Goalkeeper
WINNIPEG, MB. - Valour FC today announce that the club has signed Canadian goalkeeper Matthew Silva.
Silva, 29, joins Valour FC after spending the 2019 season with York9 FC.
The keeper spent his four-year college career playing for the Le Moyne Dolphins (Syracuse, NY.) In his first season, Silva was named Northeast-10 Conference rookie of the year and earned all-star honours three times as the starting keeper for the Dolphins.
Silva began his professional career at Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo (United Football League) where he spent the 2015 season, ultimately winning the UFL Championship.
The keeper has also spent time with Swedish clubs Bodens BK (Division 2 Norrland) and Ãsterlens FF (Division 2 Norrland).
Goalkeeper Tyson Farago will not return to the club this season. Farago appeared in 16 matches for Valour FC after signing with the club on December 14th, 2018.
