WINNIPEG, MB. - Valour FC today announce the club has signed goalkeeper Mathias Janssens to a multi-year contract. Janssens will be added to the roster upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and his Canadian work permit.

Janssens, 20, joins Valour FC from RAAL La Louviere of the Belgian Football League's, Third Division. The keeper spent the previous two seasons (2016-2018) playing with Waasland Beveren's reserve team (Belgium Pro League).

"Through our scouting and coaching networks, Mathias is a player who was brought to our attention well over a year ago," said Valour FC Head Coach & GM Rob Gale. "He has been involved at the highest levels in Belgium from 16 years of age and has terrific pedigree. We are delighted to bring him on board to create great competition for the goalkeeping position."

Janssens began his career in 2003 as a youth member of A.F.C. Tubize of the Belgian First Division B where he remained there until 2012. He then joined the U-21 team at R.A.E.C. Mons from 2012-14 and spent a season (2014-15) at K.A.A. Gent before joining Waasland Beveren.
