Utah Royals FC News Release
SANDY, Utah - Utah Royals FC DF Katie Bowen has been named to the New Zealand Women's National Team by Head Coach Tom Sermanni ahead of the first-ever China invitational tournament.
The four-team tournament is comprised of the host-nation China, as well as Brazil and Canada. The opening matches will take place on November 7 with New Zealand facing the hosts, China, and Canada playing Brazil. The winners of the two matches will play for the championship, while the other two teams will take part in a third-place match.
The call-up is the first time Bowen and New Zealand have been together since the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup earlier this year. Since first appearing in 2011, Bowen has made 65 appearances and scored three goals for the Football Ferns.
Bowen just completed her second season with URFC where she made 19 appearances at outsideback.
Utah Royals FC recently played its final game in the 2018 NWSL regular season, defeating Houston Dash 2-1 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
