USOC Third Round Match-Ups Unveiled; Additional Policies for Wednesday Announced

CINCINNATI - This morning, FC Cincinnati learned that - should it win its U.S. Open Cup Second Round game against Detroit City FC on Wednesday. May 16 - the Orange and Blue will travel for the third round.

The winner of the FC Cincinnati - Detroit City FC game will hit the road to play the third round at the winner of the Erie Commodores FC (National Premiere Soccer League) - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (USL) second-round match, which is being played in Erie, Pa., at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16. Details of the potential third-round match will be announced at the conclusion of the second round by the host team.

FC Cincinnati opens play in the 2018 U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 16, when the team hosts Detroit at Gettler Stadium at 7:30 p.m. A live stream of the game will be available at ussoccer.com.

The game is sold out and fans holding tickets are encouraged to use FCC's ticketing links to secure parking passes in advance. The Corry Garage and Calhoun Garage will be open for the game, and those without a parking pass upon arrival will have a $10 cash parking fee.

In advance of Wednesday's U.S. Open Cup match at Gettler Stadium, FCC has announced the following game policies, which are changes from regular-season games:

Due to the configuration of Gettler Stadium, smoke devices will not be allowed in the facility. Any supporter caught will be subject to expulsion from the match.

The home supporter's section will be designated the east end of the seating area. The visitor's supporter section will be designated at the west end of the seating section.

In 2017, FC Cincinnati advance to the semifinals of the U.S. Open Cup, falling in extra time to MLS entry New York Red Bulls in front of a sell-out crowd of 33,250 fans at Nippert Stadium.
