FC Tulsa News Release

Today The Tulsa Roughnecks F.C. busy run of matches continues on Wednesday, May 16 with its entry into the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The Roughnecks will host NPSL side F.C. Wichita at 7:00 p.m. at the University of Tulsa Soccer and Track Stadium in a second-round match.

Tickets will be available at the gate for only $7 each. As with every Roughnecks home match, youth soccer players who wear their team jerseys to the match, can get tickets for only $5 each. All seating for the match will be general admission.

Roughnecks season ticket holders receive tickets to the match as part of their 2018 ticket packages. They can you use one of the ticket voucher coupons that are included in their packets for entry into the game.

TRFC comes into the game without a win during the USL regular season, but off a recent five-match unbeaten run that consisted of five straight draws.

F.C. Wichita enters the game with a perfect 2-0-0 record during the NPSL season. The results include a pair of home victories, 5-0 over Ozark F.C. and 4-2 over St. Louis Club Atletico.

The two teams have never met in a U.S. Open Cup match but have played twice in preseason friendlies with the Roughnecks winning both encounters. One came prior to the 2015 season and the other before the 2016 season.

The winner of Wednesday's match will advance into third-round action. In TRFC's case, that could mean an additional edition of the Black Gold Derby. If the Roughnecks defeat F.C. Wichita, they would host the winner of the second-round meeting between the OKC Energy and NTX Rayados, an amateur side based in north Dallas that plays in the North Texas Premier Soccer League.
