Los Angeles downed San Fernando Valley Friday night to earn the Southwest's berth into the US Open Cup. LA was the first team to qualify out of the PDL. Austin qualified Saturday night when Mississippi fell in Houston. Northwest results Saturday saw Yakima qualify for the first time in 14 years. Despite a loss, Pittsburgh earned the final USL-2 berth Saturday with Wilmington also losing. Brooklyn played the Phantoms to a 1-1 draw in New Hampshire Sunday, joining Fredericksburg as the two teams advancing from the PDL Eastern qualifying group. A 2-2 draw at Kansas City clinched a berth for St Louis out of the Central. Qualifying finished on Memorial Day Monday with Michigan-Cleveland and Bradenton-Central Florida head-to-head showdowns determining the final two. The Bradenton Academics downed Central Florida 3-0 to qualify for the US Open Cup from the Southeast group of the PDL, and the Michigan Bucks won 2-1 in Cleveland to earn the second spot from the Central group. [+] Minnesota moves to second; Kickers clip Charlotte USL-1: The Vancouver Whitecaps fell 2-0 to Seattle Friday after playing the Impact to a scoreless draw last Monday at the Stade Saputo opener. Minnesota showed its new might with a 3-1 win over Miami to move to second as Portland fell 1-0 to Vancouver and Charleston increased its league lead with a 2-0 win over Atlanta. Rochester, still winless, picked up a late draw at Carolina 1-1. Miami wrapped the week up Monday with a 2-0 win at Portland.

USL-2: Richmond handed Charlotte their first loss of the year, Cleveland blanked Pittsburgh 3-0, Palace won 3-2 at Western Mass and Maryland rallied past Wilmington 2-1.
