USHL Releases 30-Man Protected List

Bloomington Thunder News Release


The United States Hockey League announced today the 30-man protected list and affiliate for all 16 of its member clubs. The lists indicate players that have been invited by USHL teams, but not all players invited to preseason camps are included. The final 23-man rosters will be submitted to the league office, as well as USA Hockey by September 21, 2015.

24 NHL Draft picks and 274 NCAA committed players are featured on the league-wide 30-man protected list.

Bloomington returns 18 players from 2014-15 to the 30-man protected list and adds two more with USHL experience. Others include eight selected by the Thunder in Phase II of the 2015 USHL Draft.

Bloomington kicks off their preseason on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Muskegon Lumberjacks before returning home to face the 'Jacks on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. Then the Waterloo Black Hawks come to Bloomington to open the regular season on Friday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m.

SEPT. 25, 7 p.m. - Home Opener: Join the Thunder as they kick off their 2015-16 season against the Waterloo Black Hawks. Every fan in the building will take home a special edition Home Opener t-shirt from the game. Join the party early with festivities outside the Coliseum and on the concourse from 6-7 p.m. Beer and soda will also be on sale for $1 during that time. Season and Partial Ticket Plans: The 2015-16 season will be here before you know it and for just $50 we can reserve your season or partial tickets for the Bloomington Thunder at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
