Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- Wings Stadium, which is also home to "The Annex" and "The Cube", announces they will host the USA Hockey Labatt Blue "USAdult Classic" this weekend May 6-8.
Tournament play will commence this Friday at 6 p.m. The tournament will conclude with the championship games from each division occurring on Sunday.
With nearly 20 teams expected, the tournament will have a sizeable impact on the economy. Area restaurants and hotels should be the most effected; however, all retailers should feel a positive trickle down effect from the spending from the participants of the tournament.
The Labatt Blue USAdult Classic is open to all divisions including Novice, Intermediate and Advanced.
Stadium Management Company owns both the Wings Stadium Complex and the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team. Wings Stadium Complex is comprised of three buildings; Wings Stadium seats more than 5,100 fans for K-Wings home games and more than 8,000 people for concerts and other stage events. The Annex seats 1,367 for ice events and 2,850 for non-ice events such as car, boat, and trade shows. The Cube is the newer of the three facilities, that plays host to both ice and non-ice events. All three buildings are available for rental and feature numerous catering and meeting opportunities.
