US Indoor Lacrosse Selects 10 Titans to the National Team for World Cup

New York, NY -- Ten Titans have been selected to play on the U.S. Indoor Lacrosse team for the upcoming World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in May. Titans' General Manager and Assistant Coach Randy Fraser will also be the assistant coach for USA.

Titans Captain Casey Powell and Assistant Captain Ryan Boyle have been selected to join the 33-man roster, as have Matt Alrich, Bryan Barrett, Bobby Horsey, Anthony Kelly, Erik Miller, John Orsen, Matt Zash and Jeff Spano.

"Casey has had a great season so far in the NLL and has become one of the premiere offensive players in the league," said Team USA's head coach Tom Ryan. "And Ryan is a tough player that finds a way to score. He is one of the best lacrosse players in the U.S .and deserves to be a cornerstone of our squad. He lives up to the hype."

The U.S. roster will be divided into a 23-man active roster and a 10-player reserve list shortly before the tournament. The 2007 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship will take place from May 14-20, at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Eight nations will compete in the 2007 Championship - USA, Canada, Australia, England, Ireland, Czech Republic, Scotland, and the Iroquois Nationals. SportsNet New York (SNY), the television home of the New York Mets, New York Jets and New York Titans, announced that the network will air additional Titans games. The Titans last five games of the season will be broadcast on SNY, including three live broadcasts.
