
NLL Announces Week 12 Player Awards

The National Lacrosse League has announced the Week Number Twelve player awards for the 2007 season. San Jose Stealth forward Gary Rosyski earned both the Overall Player of the Week and the Offensive Player of the Week Awards, Edmonton Rush goaltender Curtis Palidwor was named the Defensive Player of the Week, Mark Steenhuis of the Buffalo Bandits was named Transition Player of the Week and Ryan Benesch of the Toronto Rock was named Rookie of the Week.
San Jose Stealth forward Gary Rosyski won both the Week Number Twelve Overall Player of the Week Award and the Week Number Twelve Offensive Player of the Week Award. Rosyski lead the Stealth to a 17-8 victory over the Portland LumberJax on Saturday. The veteran scored four goals and added six assists for ten points and scooped up a loose ball in the win. He scored two of his goals on the power play as San Jose won their third straight game.
Edmonton Rush goaltender Curtis Palidwor was named Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Rush to a 12-9 home win over the Toronto Rock on Friday. Palidwor recorded 50 saves and allowed only nine goals in the victory. Palidwor also tallied an assist in the win, Edmonton's first ever over Toronto.
Mark Steenhuis of the Buffalo Bandits was named Transition Player of the Week for Week Number Twelve. Steenhuis scored five points on three goals and two assists and collected six loose balls in Buffalo's 11-8 road win over the New York Titans on Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
Toronto Rock forward Ryan Benesch was named the Week Number Twelve Rookie of the Week for his performance in a pair of games this past weekend. In a 12-9 road loss to the Edmonton Rush on Friday, Benesch scored four points on two goals and two assists and collected six loose balls. In a 13-12 home overtime loss to the Colorado Mammoth on Saturday, Benesch scored seven points on four goals and three assists and collected five loose balls.
