BUFFALO, N.Y. (March 21, 2007) --The National Lacrosse League announced Wednesday that Buffalo's Mark Steenhuis was named Transition Player of the Week for Week 12 of the NLL season.
Steenhuis led Buffalo with five points on three goals and two assists in Saturday's 11-8 road win over New York. He also picked up six loose balls. For the season, Steenhuis ranks third on the Bandits with 35 points (18G, 17A). The St. Catharines, Ont.-native made history earlier this season when he was named MVP of the 2007 NLL All-Star Game, becoming the first player in league history to win the award more than once.
The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the general managers and head coaches of the League's 13 member clubs.
