Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights News Release
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights have officially added local goaltending product Jacob Urban to the NAHL roster. Urban has already joined the team at Revolution Ice Centre and will travel with the club to Maryland for this weekend's games.
"I'm ready," said Urban. "I'm here to prove myself and show that I do belong here, so I'm just really excited to be with the team moving forward."
Urban, 19, comes to Wilkes-Barre from his U18 team, the 95 Giants. After finishing his second season with the Giants, the West Wyoming native comprised a 2.95 goals against average with a .902 save percentage in 12 games.
The '00 net minder first came to the Knights organization this past summer for the team's main training camp. Though Urban didn't crack the initial roster, he remained discipline heading back to his youth team with the focus of hoping to join the grey and blue at some point.
"When I was back up in Boston with my youth team, I just made sure to keep training. I was always tying to get better to get back to this level. Luckily I just got the call and now it's my time to prove myself, so I'm just going to take this as it comes."
Urban and goaltender Zach Stejskal are expected to be the tandem to carry the Knights through the remainder of the 2018-19 season.
