Chicago Sky News Release
CHICAGO, July 3, 2009 - Chicago Sky center Sylvia Fowles did not travel with the team to San Antonio yesterday afternoon in order to allow team physicians to check soreness in her right knee. Fowles, who scored 14 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in the Sky's win over the Sacramento Monarchs on June 30th , has been cleared to play and arrived in San Antonio this afternoon. Due to the last minute travel change, she is expected to see limited if any time in tonight's game against the Silver Stars at 7PM. Fowles leads the Sky with 1.78 blocks, 9.0 rebounds and shoots a team high 62% from the field.
The Sky is one of six independently-owned teams in the WNBA, the world's longest-running women's professional sports league. The Sky is currently off to their best start in franchise history and are currently ranked second in the Eastern Conference.
