Columbus Clippers News Release

I hope everyone is enjoying the World Series. The playoffs were amazing! The NLCS was overshadowed by the Bosox-Yankees games but it was a great series too. I think Boston is going to have a little trouble in St. Louis. Losing the DH for three games may be too much for the Beantowners to handle. An interesting fact in Boston's favor... in baseball history, the two best pitchers in strikeouts per walks are Curt Schilling and Pedro Martinez.

This Thursday, Friday and Saturday is the last weekend of Terror Park. It's been a lot of fun! We will have 100,000 plus visitors to the Dungeon. I am amazed at how many people are afraid of clowns. Some things baffle me.

Things are beginning to rev up for next season in the front office. Scotty is getting set to send out the season tickets info next week. We are also setting promotional schedules for next year. If anyone has anything you'd like us to try next season, let me know and I'll bring it up in a meeting. We are always looking for great ideas!

Things have been quiet of the free agent front. The only action has been the Twins signing infielder/ outfielder Todd Dunwoody, catcher Chris Heintz, infielder Luis Maza, and catcher Gabby Torres to minor league contracts. They will be playing for Rochester.

Most minor league free agent signings don't happen until after the Winter Meetings in early December.

Our guys in the Arizona Fall League are continuing to do well. A number of Yankee farm hands are getting ready to report to winter ball. John Rodriguez (OF) is going to team up with David Shepard (RHP) to play for Santurce Crabbers in Puerto Rico. Donzell McDonald will be playing the outfield with San Juan Senadores.

Caonabo Cosme will play the outfield for Aguilas Del Cibao in the Dominican League. Caonabo was a middle infielder with the Clippers this past season. Ramon Ramirez (RHP) and Teuris Olivares (2B) will play for the Gigantes Del Cibao. Jorge DePaula (RHP) will be rehabbing with Leones Del Escogido. Estrellas Del Oriente has Edison Reynoso (RHP) and Robinson Cano (2B) on their roster. And outfielder Rodolfo Guillen is with the Tigres Del Licey.

Enjoy your Halloween! Talk to you next week.
