
Union Remain Undefeated at Subaru Park; Gazdag Scores Ninth Goal of the Season

CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union beat the New England Revolution 2-1 on Saturday night at Subaru Park. With the win, the Union remain in first place in the Eastern Conference with 39 points. Both teams were scoreless at the end of the first half, despite the Union holding a 12 to six shot advantage along with five corners over New England. In the second half, forward Gustavo Bou put New England ahead in the 61st minute with a right footed shot from the center of the box. In the 75th minute, forward Mikael Uhre would respond by leaping over the New England defense, heading in a ball whipped in by Kai Wagner off of a corner, leveling the match. Moments later, New England conceded a penalty kick and midfielder Daniel Gazdag stepped up to the spot to secure a victory for the Union in the 79th minute.
The Union will hit the road to face Orlando City SC at Exploria Stadium on Saturday, July 23rd (7:30 p.m. ET / PHL17).
