
Red Bulls Return to Red Bull Arena on Sunday Afternoon for Nationally Televised Match against New York City FC

HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls (9-5-6, 33 pts.) host rivals New York City FC (10-4-5, 35 pts.) in the New York Derby on Sunday, July 17 at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 4 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Stefano Fusaro will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET.
This will be the 20th regular season meeting between the Red Bulls and NYCFC, with the Red Bulls holding the advantage in the series with a 10-6-3 mark. The Red Bulls are 4-0-1 in their last five MLS matches against NYCFC at Red Bull Arena. The last time both teams played against each other, the Red Bulls defeated NYCFC, 3-0, in the Round of 16 of the U.S. Open Cup on June 22 at Red Bull Arena. Midfielders Lewis Morgan, Luquinhas, and Bronx, N.Y. native Omir Fernandez all scored goals in the victory.
The Red Bulls are currently on a five-game home winning streak across all competitions for the first time since 2018. In those five matches, New York have outscored their opponents, 14-3. NYCFC come into the match currently second place in the Eastern Conference and have the highest expected goals total in MLS with 40. NYCFC are unbeaten in their last four MLS matches.
Midfielder Cristian Casseres, Jr. has played and started in seven New York Derby's in his time with New York. Among active Red Bulls players, he has the most goals and assists against NYCFC with two a piece, including his game-winning goal against them in the last MLS regular season match between the two clubs on October 17.
Following Sunday's match, the Red Bulls will embark on a two-match road trip, first battling Western Conference leaders Austin FC on Sunday, July 24.
