U.S. Soccer Will Add Additional Seats for USA vs. Sweden in Columbus, Ohio on November 7
October 15, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Columbus Crew SC News Release
CHICAGO - With tickets for the U.S. Women's National Team match vs. Sweden on Nov. 7 in Columbus, Ohio in high demand, U.S. Soccer will add as many as 3,182 additional seats at MAPFRE Stadium by installing bleachers in the south, and possibly north, ends of the venue. The match will kick-off at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1 & TUDN. Without the additional seats, MAPFRE Stadium holds almost 20,000 fans.
Tickets for the south bleachers will go on sale tomorrow morning, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. ET through ussoccer.com and ticketmaster.com. Purchasers will be limited to six tickets per transaction. Should these seats sell quickly, U.S. Soccer will then open seating for bleachers in the north end of the stadium.
The meeting with Sweden, which is ranked fifth in the world after its third-place finish at the World Cup this summer, comes less than five months after the teams met in the Women's World Cup Group F final match in Reims, France, a 2-0 victory for the Americans on goals from Lindsey Horan and a Sweden own goal that was created by Tobin Heath. Sweden has begun its qualifying for the 2021 UEFA Women's Euro, to be staged in England, downing Latvia 4-1 in September, then routing Hungary (5-0) and Slovakia (7-0) in October.
