U.S. Sled Hockey Teams to Train this Weekend in Madison, Wis.

Madison Ice Arena To Host Training Camp, Nov. 3-5, in Final Preparation for 2016 (Dec.) World Sled Hockey Challenge in December

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2016-17 U.S. National and Development Sled Hockey Teams will train this weekend (Nov. 3-5) at the Madison Ice Arena in Madison, Wisconsin. The training camp will be Team USA's final preparation for the the 2016 (Dec.) World Sled Hockey Challenge that will take place in Charlottetown, P.E.I., at MacLauchlan Arena from Dec. 4-10.

Team USA will hold three practices and two exhibition games at Madison Ice Arena, all open to the public, commencing Thursday (Nov. 3). In addition, the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team and U.S. Development Sled Hockey Team will participate in a twenty-minute exhibition game Saturday (Nov. 5) at Kohl Center following the Northern Michigan vs. University of Wisconsin men's hockey game, which begins at 7:00 p.m. CT.

Head coach Jeff Sauer (Madison, Wis.) enters his sixth season behind the bench for Team USA. Since first taking the helm in 2011, Sauer has guided Team USA to a 47-4-2-12 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record that includes reaching the championship game of every major international competition and titles in seven major international competitions, including five straight championships.

The 2016-17 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team is led by captain Andy Yohe (Bettendorf, Iowa) and alternate captains Nikko Landeros (Johnstown, Colo.) and Josh Pauls (Green Brook, N.J.). In addition to the captains, the U.S. roster includes two other two-time Paralympic gold medalists (2014, 2010), including forward Adam Page (Lancaster, N.Y.) and goaltender Steve Cash (Overland, Mo.).
