ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Matt Rust's (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) four points (2-2) led the U.S. National Under-18 Team past the Traverse City North Stars, 7-3 tonight at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.

John Albert (Concord, Ohio) made it a 2-0 game 1:06 later when he beat Iberer from in tight on the Traverse City net. The U.S. outshot Traverse City 58-to-31 on the night. Brad Phillips (Farmington Hills, Mich.) stopped 28-of-31 shots to earn his 17th win of the season.
"We stuck to our gameplan and got a lot of shots to the net tonight," said U.S. Head Coach Ron Rolston (Fenton, Mich.). "Our guys rebounded well after last night's disappointing effort and we will need to continue to improve on our consistency to be successful through the rest of the season."
