
Tyler Harvey's 28 Not Enough in Loss to Red Claws

Erie, Pennsylvania - The Maine Red Claws used a 23-0 to seal the victory over the Erie BayHawks, 121-97, this evening at Erie Insurance Arena.
The BayHawks and the Red Claws traded baskets for much of the first quarter behind balanced scoring from both teams. Keith Appling and Omari Johnson each had six points for their respective teams. Alex Davis appeared to finish out the first with a commanding put back dunk but Johnson hit a three as time expired to close the quarter 29-24 in favor of Erie.
Erie and Maine continued to trade baskets through the second quarter. Malcolm Miller had the hot hand for Maine, knocking down three three-pointers. Appling posted ten points in the second for the BayHawks. The game featured 16 lead changes before half.
The Red Claws opened the second half with an 11-2 to jump out to a 12 point lead but Erie answered with six Eric Atkins points. After their respective runs, Maine and Erie traded baskets again. Tyler Harvey hit four three-pointers but Miller continued his hot streak and added eight points for the Red Claws to answer Harvey's shooting. The game was briefly tied at 79-79 before Maine went on a 23-0 run between the third and fourth quarters on the way to the 121-97 victory.
Miller led the Red Claws with 24 points behind 6-7 shooting from three. Levi Randolph added 19 points and six rebounds off the bench. Johnson had a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Maine had six players score in double-digits.
Erie was led by a game-high 28 points from Tyler Harvey. Harvey was 7-9 from behind the arc. Appling added 16 points and six assists. Atkins posted 13 points off the bench.
The BayHawks are on the road at the Sioux Falls Skyforce in a pair of games this weekend. They return home on Sunday, February 28th at 2pm for Salute Our Troops presented by LECOM. The BayHawks will be taking the court in specially made camouflage jerseys. The jerseys will be auctioned to benefit Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors.
