Texas Tycoons News Release

Dallas, TX - The Texas Tycoons received word from the ABA league office that the Arkansas RiverCatz had abruptly called an end to their season. While the Arkansas Aeros and Arkansas RiverCatz join to form one team, the Tycoons will rather than hosting the Arkansas RiverCatz instead face the Houston Takers . Texas (17-5) currently leads the ABA in scoring at 130ppg, Houston (4-12) is 4th in the league in scoring currently averaging 119.88ppg. Tip-off at Dallas's Mountain View College is scheduled for Thursday February 8th at 7:30pm.

When asked about the cancellation with Arkansas, Coach Terrell stated "You know something always comes up when they're scheduled to come to Dallas". While noting that neither Arkansas team has won a game in Dallas this season, Terrell continued "There are some really good people affiliated within that franchise and I hope things work out well now as the Aeros. We hope to face the best collection of talent they can assemble from the two squads and my best wishes go out to the people who will not have that opportunity on the Aeros. When they get situated and integrated we'll look forward to seeing them again in March. We're really fortunate that Houston owner Larry Leonard stepped up to the plate to get this game played and look forward to facing Houston on Thursday."

The Tycoons will be looking to improve to 18-5 on the season, which would establish a new season high mark in victories for the franchise. The 04/05 Tycoons won 17 games (17-9) en route to a second place finish to the Arkansas Rimrockers that season. Texas who is now 2-0 against the 06/07 rendition of the Arkansas franchise are looking forward to hosting the new look Arkansas Aeros featuring several of the same players from that championship team including: Kareem Reid (former RiverCatz), Todd Day, and Daryn Selvey, this time as the #1 ranked Arkansas Aeros in Dallas on March 9th.
