
Two Rockies Named With Organizational Honors

Casper, WY - The Casper Rockies are pleased to announce that RHP Brandon Hynick and shortstop Hector Gomez have been named as the Colorado Rockies' Organizational Pitcher and Position Players for the month of July. The Colorado Rockies select one position player and one player each month from all six of the Colorado Rockies Minor League teams for this honor.
During the month of July, Hynick went 3-1 with a 1.29 ERA in five starts over 28 innings pitched. The 6-3 righty out of North Royalton, OH has a 4-2 record with a 1.82 ERA in 10 games this season. Hynick was named the Pioneer League pitcher of the week for the week of July 17th to the 23rd.
Gomez, a 6-3 righty, hit .330 in 24 games during the month of July with four homeruns, 19 RBI and two stolen bases. The San Pedro, Dominican Republic native is hitting .326 on the season through the first 56 games with five homeruns and 32 stolen bases.
"It's great to see that a couple of our players are being recognized for their accomplishments at an organizational level. Both Brandon and Hector bring a lot to the game and deliver when needed," said Ryan Specht, Casper Rockies Director of Field Operations. "We're looking forward to watching them progress throughout the remainder of the season as well as their professional careers."
