New Britain Rock Cats News Release
The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League made two roster transactions in the last 24 hours involving Catchers.
Details:
C Danny Rams, the 21-year-old native of Miami, FL, has been returned to Beloit in the Midwest League. Rams joined New Britain within the last two weeks after the team's primary receiver, Danny Lehmann, was placed on the DL with a shoulder injury. Selected out of Gulliver Prep (FL) by Minnesota in the 2nd Round of the 2007 Draft, Rams appeared in 14 games for the 2010 Rock Cats and batted .071 with 1 Double and 1 RBI.
C Allan de San Miguel, a 22-year-old native of Bentley, Australia, has joined the Rock Cats after having started the 2010 Season at Triple-A Rochester in the International League. The 5'9"/200-pound de San Miguel signed with the Twins as a non-drafted Free Agent in 2004. He is no stranger to New Britain having played in 22 games for the Rock Cats in 2009. In 16 games for Rochester this year, de San Miguel batted .106 with 1 Triple and 3 RBI.
Both players will be in uniform with their new teams in time for tonight's scheduled action.
