Two Points Versus Killer Bees - Bulls Back At Home This Weekend

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls collected just two points against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees over the weekend. It was the Bulls first lost in nine games and it dropped their mark to 10-3-1. The Bulls edged the Killer Bees 2-1 before falling the next night 4-1. There will be plenty of exciting hockey action and entertainment this weekend when the Amarillo Bulls host the Topeka Road Runners on Friday and Saturday at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. The face-off for both is set for 7 pm.

BULLS IN THE COMMUNITY: It's a busy week for Bulls players and staff as they will be out visiting various schools and participating in a wide variety of events. The Bulls 4 Health Hockey program begins with a visit to Tradewind Elementary School. Another program that will officially kick-off is the Bulls Against Bullying with stops to Sundown Elementary, and Reeves-Hinger Elementary School. Bulls' players will also be helping out at the Discover Center with Family Science Night and dropping by Trunk Or Treat Halloween at a downtown church.

FRIDAY, NOV. 1, SATURDAY, NOV. 2 VS. TOPEKA ROADRUNNERS: It's round two of the rivalry between the Amarillo Bulls and the Topeka RoadRunners. It's also the last home stand for the Bulls until after the World Ranch Rodeo. On Friday, its United Way Night as Bulls fans can help support another terrific organization. Fans are also encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costume with a contest following during the 2nd intermission. The first 500 fans will receive a Bulls Magnet Schedule and a Wonderland Pucky T-Shirt. On Saturday, it's Panhandle Spirit Night as area residents are invited to purchase discounted tickets at $10, and have their name entered into a draw to win a getaway packages from The Big Texan. It's also $1 hotdogs.

STAT OF THE WEEKEND: Four Amarillo Bulls' players are among the leaders in two categories. Collin Delia leads NAHL netminders with a 1.07 Goals Against Average. Forward Matt Sieckhaus is tied for second in scoring with 19 points, while Tyler Gernhofer and Roman Ammirato are tied for seventh with 16 points apiece.

WEEKLY REWIND:

AMARILLO BULLS 2 - RIO GRANDE VALLEY 1: Brendan Vetter and Roman Ammirato scored in the first 40 minutes as the Bulls held on to beat the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 2-1. Collin Delia stopped 21 of 22 shots he faced. Ammirato, Matt Sieckhaus added assists on the goals. The victory stretched the Bulls winning streak to nine games.

RIO GRANDE VALLEY 4 - AMARILLO BULLS 1: Tyler Gernhofer scored the lone goal for the Amarillo Bulls in a 4-1 set back to the Killer Bees. The Bulls trailed 1-0 after 40 minutes and battled back to tie the game early in the third period as Gernhofer scored off a rebound in front of the net. Cameron Cooper picked up an assist on the play. The Killer Bees added what proved to be the game winning goal 35 seconds after the Bulls had tied.
