The National Lacrosse League honored Rochester Knighthawks goalie Matt Vinc and forward Stephen Keogh with weekly awards. The co-players of the game led the Knighthawks to a 9-7 win over the Philadelphia Wings last Saturday. The victory clinched a home playoff game for the first time since the 2007 season.

"It feels pretty good to be going into the playoffs on a high note," said Vinc. "Not only for myself, but because it was our best defensive game as a team. The defense played like we are capable and limited the other team's quality scoring chances."

On the last day of the regular season, he allowed a season-low seven goals and made 35 saves to help the Knighthawks earn back-to-back playoff berths for the first time since the 2006-07 seasons. The two-time goalie of the year ended the season with 583 saves, which was the third highest total in single-season team history. He was second in the NLL in saves, tied for third in wins (7) and fifth in goals-against average (12.21).

Keogh saved his best game for the regular season finale as he scored a career-high four goals and tied his career high with six points. He finished third on the team with 58 points and third among rookie point producers. He was named one of the winners of the team's Community Service Award.

"It's good to get the (rookie of the week) award right before the playoffs, which is an entirely new season," said Keogh. "I'm excited to play at home on Friday night."

This Friday, Rochester will host the Philadelphia Wings in the East Division Semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the playoff game are just $10 in the best available seating area. For ticket information, call (585) 454-4295 or go online to www.knighthawks.net.
