Minnesota Swarm News Release

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - For the second time in three weeks, Minnesota Swarm T Jordan MacIntosh has been honored as the NLL Transition Player of the Week. MacIntosh earned the award in Week #17 after posting a career-high six points (2g, 4a) and a team-tying high 13 loose balls in the Swarm's 16-13 win against Colorado. His 13 loose balls helped him set a new team record at 153 on the season.

"It's great to see Jordan win another player of the week award," head coach Joe Sullivan said. "He works so hard and he's so focused. He's probably tougher on himself than anybody on our team in terms of getting himself prepared and wanting to do better each and every game."

Minnesota's top draft choice (fourth overall) from 2011 went on to finish the season ranking among the Top 5 leaders in the NLL in loose balls (153) and faceoff wins (151). Offensively, MacIntosh scored a goal in all but one game this season, and surpassed the 50-point mark, becoming the first rookie to do so since Craig Point in 2008. MacIntosh led all 12 Swarm rookies with 51 points (23g, 28a) and also forced 14 turnovers in 16 games. The Oakville, Ontario native became the first Swarm rookie to be named to the All-Star Game in 2012 and also earned the Week #4 Rookie of the Week award.

The Swarm (9-7) head West to face the Colorado Mammoth (11-5) in the opening round of the 2012 NLL Playoffs this Saturday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the game on CBS Sports Network at Cork's Irish Pub in Downtown St. Paul during the Swarm's official viewing party.
