Two Home Games this Weekend

The Baltimore Blast (6-8) will host the Chicago Storm this Friday night, January 26th and the Detroit Ignition the following night, Saturday the 27th, at 1st Mariner Arena. Both games will kick off at 7:35 p.m.

Blast season tickets, mini-plans and single-game tickets are on sale now by calling the Blast office at 410-73-BLAST. Single-game tickets cost $20 and $17 and are available at the 1st Mariner Arena Box Office and can also be ordered by calling TicketMaster at 410-547-SEAT or online at ticketmaster.com.

Join the Baltimore Blast at the Maryland Youth Soccer Workshop on January 27

The Baltimore Blast and the MSYSA invite you to attend the annual Maryland State Youth Soccer Association Workshop which is being held all day on Saturday, January 27th from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at 1st Mariner Arena.

The MSYSA Workshop is the annual event where players, parents, coaches, referees and club administrators of the Maryland Youth Soccer Community come together to learn, teach and conduct business. The Workshop offers classroom sessions, floor demonstrations, referee and coaching courses, an exhibit of soccer vendors, a silent auction of soccer products and the finals of the first Annual Maryland Indoor Cup for boys and girls from U-9 through U-13.

Baltimore Blast players will be signing autogrpahs at the workshop from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Classroom Sessions include:
- Insights in college recruitment for sophomore and junior players
- Club fund raising opportunities
- Soccerhead Author Jim Haner in a panel discussion on state of youth soccer
- Preventing Injury through proper conditioning for soccer players

This exhibit will feature various vendors providing equipment, apparel, fund raising, camps, tournaments and a wide range of health and other services.

Floor Demonstrations on personal skills and floor development will be provided by:
- George O'Neil, Region 1 Boys ODP Coach, Former Head Coach, University of PA
- Herb Gainey, MSYSA Girls ODP Head Coach, Head Coach St. Mary's College
- Graham Ramsay, MSYSA Director of Soccer Development

Courses will be held during the day for coaches (G License) and referees (Grade 9 - Introductory) and there will be a Skills Challenge - a series of interactive games to test player skills and techniques.
