Two Groove Players Returning for 2002-2003 season

Greenville, SC – The 2001-2002 NBDL Champion Greenville Groove is set to have Billy Thomas and Jason Williams returning, pending the execution of an NBA player's contract. Both finished last season on the Greenville Groove roster and have returned signed contracts to the league office in Greenville, SC.

Thomas led the Groove in scoring, averaging 24 points per game. He also obtained 3.2 steals per game in the championship season. Thomas was honored for his achievements with the Groove by being named to the 2001-2002 ALL-NBDL first team.

Jason Williams will make contributions to the Groove in the Guard/Forward position. Williams joined the Groove on February 21, 2001. He saw action in eight regular season games and five play-off games for the NBDL Champions. During the regular season Williams averaged 1.8 points per games and 1.5 rebounds per game. He averaged 2.6 points per game in the post season.

The Greenville Groove is set to begin their 2002-2003 season by playing host to the Columbus Riverdragons on Friday, November 15 at the BI-LO Center. The game will begin at 7:00 pm. Groove season passes are now available. Call 864.241.3800 for more information or visit www.greenvillegroove.com.
