Two Former Orangemen Sign With Buffalo

(BUFFALO, NY)- The Buffalo Destroyers announced today they have signed two former Syracuse Orangemen, OL/DL Antonio Anderson and WR/LB Sir Mawn Wilson.

"I'm thrilled to bring in a couple more guys that have NFL experience and guys that are familiar faces to area fans from their days at Syracuse," said Destroyers head coach Ron Selesky. "Both these guys will make an immediate impact on our team.

Anderson (6-6, 320, Syracuse) was a fourth round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 1997 and played two seasons with the Cowboys (1997-98). He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders. As a senior at Syracuse, Anderson finished with 45 tackles, four sacks and three forced fumbles.

Wilson (6-2, 200, Syracuse) spent the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Storm. He appeared in seven games last season catching nine passes for 88 yards and three touchdowns. He played four seasons in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins (1996), Denver Broncos (1997-98) and the New England Patriots (1999). Wilson was a two-year starter for Syracuse, catching 43 passes for 656 yards and a touchdown. In eight games as a senior, Wilson caught 18 passes for 281 yards and a touchdown.

The team also announced it has released FB/LB Tyrell Peters and OS Tyree Davis.

Buffalo kicks off its fifth season in the Arena Football League Saturday, February 1, 2003 as the Destroyers host the Grand Rapids Rampage at the HSBC Arena. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Season tickets are on sale now. Call 881-4444!
