
Two Bulls Tenders Named to NAPHL All-Academic Team

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls received the some good news recently when two of its Tenders (future players) were named to the North American Prospects Hockey League's All-Academic Team.
Defenseman James LaDouce and forward Jasen Fernsler, both members of the Lansing Capitals program, were named to those prestigious squads. LaDouce, who played in two games for the Bulls during the regular season was selected to the second team, while Fernsler was chose to the third team.
Bulls Head Coach Dennis Williams when they see these two guys excel in the classroom it's a positive for the organization.
"Jasen was with us this past week practicing and James and his family were down earlier in the season, and he played during one weekend on defense with Karl (Beckman)," said Williams. "We're really happy for those guys and excited about them coming in along with our other tenders and recruits.
"These guys want to play college hockey, and when they can combine good grades and hockey, it opens up a lot of doors for them and other players who can do that."
To qualify for the All-PHL Academic Team, student-athletes must have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 for the 2011-12 school year and be nominated by their coaches.
The Amarillo Bulls have advanced to the South Division Final to play either the Topeka RoadRunners or the Texas Tornado in a Best-Of-Five Series. Games one and two will take place on Friday, Apr. 20 and Saturday, Apr. 21 at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.
