Lone Star Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - The Lone Star Brahmas are pleased to announce the National Letter of Intent signing of two Brahma players: Nicholas Niemo to Bentley University and Tyler Nasca to Mercyhurst University.
The National Letter of Intent is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution, where a student-athlete agrees to attend the institution full-time for at least one academic year in exchange for a sports scholarship. This program is governed by the NCAA.
Niemo, the 2021-22 captain of the Brahmas, made his verbal commitment to Bentley during the 2020-21 season after recording 53 points (17g-36a) in 52 games played. The forward is on pace to exceed his previous year's stats, totaling 24 points (8g-16a) in 19 contests. The 5'10 Middlebury, VT native is the current leading scorer on Lone Star, as well as in the top-15 scorers across the entire North American Hockey League.
Nasca, a new addition to the Brahmas this season, is tied for the top-defenseman scorer on the squad for the 2021-22 season with 5 points (3g-2a) in 15 games. Previous to coming to North Richland Hills, the skater played 98 games with the New Jersey Titans of the NAHL, scoring 39 points (12g-27a). Nasca, from Wheatfield, NY, recorded a career-high three points (2g-1a) in the Nov. 13 game against Shreveport.
