
Twisters Assigned '07 af2 Playermaker of the Year

(North Little Rock, AR) - The Arkansas Twisters picked up another big free agent as veteran receiver/linebacker Robert Garth was assigned to the team by the arenafootball2 league office. Garth was the 2007 af2 Cutters Playmaker of the Year.
Garth played both sides of the ball for Tri-Cities. He was second on the team with 72 catches for 910 yards and 27 total touchdowns. He was second on the team in rushing with 10 attempts for 12 yards and two touchdowns. He played quarterback for part of a game and passed for two scores. Garth led the team in sacks with 3.5 while adding 6.0 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and 20.5 total tackles. He earned U. S. Army Ironman of the Week honors during week nine of the '07 season. Tri-Cities made the ArenaCup Playoffs, losing in the first round by three points to the top seed.
The former New Mexico State standout played four years with Green Bay before coming to Tri-Cities. He reached the ArenaCup title game in '06; losing to current Twisters' coach Chris Siegfried's Spokane Shock. He amassed 253 catches for 2884 receiving yards and 72 touchdowns during his tenure with Green Bay. He also had 132.5 total tackles with Green Bay on defense.
Garth played his rookie season in the af2 with Carolina in '02. He hauled in 29 catches for 330 yards and six touchdowns. He was also among the team leaders with 21 total tackles.
