Spokane Shock News Release

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that WR Raul Vijil has re-signed with the team for the 2008 season. Vijil, 5'10 185, is the third member of the 2006 ArenaCup Champions and 2007 Western Division Champions to re-sign with the team. The Shock also added LB Mario Reece to its 2008 roster.

Despite an injury-plagued 2007 season, Vijil finished second on the team in receptions and third in scoring. Playing in only nine games, Vijil recorded 57 receptions, 867 total all-purpose yards, and 16 total touchdowns.

"Last season was the first season that Raul has ever had to deal with any injuries and he worked hard to speed up the recovery process," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "Before he was injured, statistically, he was one of the top receivers in the league. He is a very talented player who will be a major component in the success of our offense."

As a member of the 2006 ArenaCup Championship team, the Pasco-native contributed 752 all-purpose yards and 22 touchdowns.

"I love being a part of this team and I'm looking forward to an injury-free season to prove what I'm capable of," Vijil said.

Reece, 6'3 235, finished his collegiate career at the University of Minnesota and was signed by the NFL's Buffalo Bills before being released at the end of camp. In his final two seasons at Minnesota, Reece collected 130 tackles - including five sacks - and one interception.

The Shock's roster now stands at 27 players for the 2008 season. Season tickets for the 2008 season are on sale now and can be purchased by calling (509) 242 7462.
