Manchester, NH - For the Manchester Wolves, 2008, the team's fifth anniversary in Manchester, is the Year of the Fan. And this year, some fans of the professional arena football team will get to do more than wave their pompoms in the stands. They'll get to strut their stuff on Brady Sullivan field along with the Manchester Wolves Lady Wolf Pack Promo Team.
Eight different dance teams from local dance schools around the state will have the opportunity to perform at the Wolves' eight home games, and many teams are already excited about the prospect.
"In the Year of the Fan we're going to do some creative new things to promote and encourage spirit at the Wolves games, and this is one of them," said General Manager Peter Morris. "We're hoping our fans will have a lot to 'get up and dance' about."
More than just an in-arena feature, the Lady Wolf Pack Promo Team, comprised of highly-skilled and community-oriented performers, will continue to dazzle crowds, making countless personal appearances at conventions and company, promotional, community and charitable events throughout the season. The Wolves will soon announce the exciting new selection process for the promo team, which is sure to draw former and new people interested in cheering on a Wolves football team that is quickly shaping up to be one of the best teams yet.
"Arena football is tailored to a quicker, more fan-friendly style of play that puts the fan closer to the action and produces exciting, higher scoring games," said Morris. "As we celebrate our fifth year, we thought, why not bring that same concept to the dance team and allow our fans to cheer the football team on not from the sidelines, but from the field. The local dance teams combined with the Lady Wolf Pack Promo Team are sure to provide twice the excitement."
