Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed infielder J.J. Hardy on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 5) with a left wrist contusion. Hardy suffered the injury sliding into third base in his final at-bat on May 4 vs. Detroit
To replace Hardy on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled infielder Matt Tolbert from Triple-A Rochester. Tolbert batted .232 (26-for-112) with six doubles, two triples, one home run and five rbi in 27 games with the Red Wings this season. He is expected to be in uniform for tonight's game vs. Chicago and will wear number 20.
