Twins Fall in Series Opener against Acadiana

Youngsville, LA - The Texarkana Twins struggled from the beginning and could not redeem themselves, which resulted in another loss on the road bringing them to five losses in a row.
In the 2nd inning the Twins ran into trouble when the Cane Cutters, first sent the next three batters back to the dugout and then used a couple of walks and hits to score four early on making the score 4-0. The 3rd inning did not bring much success for the Twins as the club started off with a single from Tanner Sparks who remained stranded on base. The Cane Cutters did not let up and slugged in three more runs bringing the score to 7-0. The Cane Cutters then score again in the 5th inning off of a sacrifice fly bringing the score to 8-0. After this, both teams fell silent for the rest of the game.
The starting pitcher for the Twins, Zach Pinkston, threw for only three innings giving up five hits, 7 runs, and 4 walks. Austin Cree then took the mound for the Twins, pitching only two innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run, and 1 walk. Dayden Lane took over in the 6th inning and sent the first three batters he faced back to the dugout. Jake Grey pitched the last two innings, facing 8 batters and striking two of them out. The Twins only made 1 error throughout the entire game, the Cane Cutters bats were on fire from the get go, making it difficult for the Twins to recover.
Tomorrow, the Twins will finish up the series against the Cane Cutters before having a pair of off days. The Twins will return to Texarkana on June 18th to take on a four-game home stand, first against the Texas Marshalls and then the Acadiana Cane Cutters again.
