YOUNGSVILLE, La. - The Acadiana Cane Cutters win big at home against the Texarkana Twins with a final score of 8-0!

The Cutters kicked things off with four runs in the second inning, three more in the third, and scoring the final run in the fifth.

Pitching was on fire for the Cutters with a total of 16 strikeouts, 12 of which were produced by starting pitcher Brayson Smith (UNO). Smith threw six innings and faced 22 batters.

Fred Franklin (University of Southern Miss) and Rhett McCall (Lamar University) were both 2-5 in this game. Franklin hit three RBIs and McCall remains the top hitter in the league with a .619 batting average. Come Secrest also had a stellar night with three RBIs and scoring two runs.

Come out for game 2 on Friday night against the Twins. We are having our Grandma Appreciation Night here at Fabacher Field. Grandmas get in free and we will honor them on the field with flowers. The Cane Cutters will also have home games on the 16th and 17th. Saturday is Star Wars Night. Dress in Star Wars attire and get in the game for $5. Sunday is Fathers' Day Out. Call the front office for special ticket packages! Gates open at 6 PM and first pitch is at 7 PM for all home games!
