Turning the tide
February 12, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Georgia Force News Release
When the Force's cross-town colleagues, the Atlanta Falcons, headed into Tampa this past December, they had yet to win at Raymond James Stadium, the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They turned the opportunity into an improbable 30-28 win over their division foes.
The Force is hoping some of that tide-turning magic is still in the Floridian air when they head into the St. Petersburgh Times Forum, a venue they have yet to post a win at, on Friday night.
In truth, the Force has yet to claim a victory over the League's most consistently dominating franchise, and divisional rival, the Storm, but Coach Lowe and the 2004 Georgia Force, fresh off a devastating loss in week 1, have more to prove than ever in this divisional matchup.
The Georgia Force open Southern Division play when they travel to Tampa to face the defending AFL World Champion Tampa Bay Storm on Friday, February 13th at the St. Pete Times Forum at 7:30 p.m. Despite playing on Friday the 13th, the Force will be looking for some luck to snap a 0-4 winless streak against the Storm. Lat year, Georgia played better on the road posting a 6-4 record and was 1-0 in Friday night games.
