February 12, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
New Orleans VooDoo News Release

When the New Orleans VooDoo kickoff their inaugural home opener against the Indiana Firebirds on Saturday, February 12 at the New Orleans Arena, fans can expect an exciting, interactive experience leading up to the game through its conclusion.

While the gates to the New Orleans Arena will open at 12:30 p.m., VooDoo fans will be treated to an exciting gameday experience starting at 12 p.m. In front of the Girod Street entrance to the New Orleans Arena, interactive games with New Orleans Saints inflatables and complimentary face painting will be available to fans.

The first 10,000 fans that enter the arena will receive a 2004 New Orleans VooDoo Schedule Poster, sponsored by Wendy's. The first 5,000 fans that enter for the game will also receive a pair of VooDoo Thunder Bones, sponsored by News on Wheels. Fans will also receive a complimentary game program upon entering the arena.

Starting with an exhilarating pyrotechnic display at 1:45 and VooDoo Doll and player introductions on the arena floor, VooDoo fans can expect an exciting gameday experience. Coming off of a season-opening 42-34 victory over the Philadelphia Soul, the VooDoo will try to add to their win total against Indiana. The VooDoo features Quarterback John Fitzgerald, who threw for four touchdown passes last Sunday and Offensive Specialist Aaron Bailey, who caught nine passes for 140 yards with two touchdowns. Fullback/Linebacker Dan Curran rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns as well.

Following every home game, all VooDoo players, coaches and VooDoo Dolls will remain on the field to sign autographs for the fans. Fans are encouraged to come onto the field after the game and meet the members of the New Orleans VooDoo.

As of 5 p.m. on Wednesday the VooDoo have sold in excess of 10,000 seats for their season opener. As a result of some obstructed seats, New Orleans Arena capacity will seat just over 15,000 fans.

Approximately 5,000 seats remain for Saturday's game with several pricing and seating options. Tickets can be purchased for as low as $6, with these end zone seats still currently available. Tickets have been made available for $5 to members of the military, their spouse and immediate families in a special section appropriately named "the trench". Those who have an immediate family member currently serving in the military in another location or overseas are also eligible for the discounted tickets. The military tickets are available with the display of a military ID at the Saints ticket offices at the Superdome and at 5800 Airline Drive in Metairie, or by e-mail at dorem@saints.nfl.com.

In addition to these special ticket offers, New Orleans VooDoo seasons tickets, Flex Pack packages and individual tickets to future games are on sale and can be purchased at the New Orleans Saints tickets offices on 5800 Airline Drive and at the Louisiana Superdome, both of which are open from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. They can also be purchased by calling the Saints ticket office at (504) 731-1700 or visiting www.GoVooDoo.com.
