
Tulsa puts up a fight in loss to Fort Worth

TULSA, Okla. - A night after beating Fort Worth for the first time in five tries this season, the 66ers couldn't extend a recent winning streak to three games, losing 100-99 Saturday night at Expo Square Pavilion.
The Flyers (26-29) snapped a three-game losing skid by manhandling Tulsa (19-26) down low. Fort Worth outscored the 66ers 70-42 in the paint. Pops Mensa-Bonsu, on assignment from the Dallas Mavericks, was key in the domination, scoring a team-high 26 points on 11-of-16 shooting. The Flyers also got 17 points apiece from center Deji Akindele and Kevin Burleson. Curtis Stinson chipped in with nine points and a game-high 14 assists.
Tulsa was paced by Marcus Vinicius' 30 points and 10 rebounds, giving the young man on assignment from the Oklahoma City/New Orleans Hornets 63 points in his last two games and a total of 15 three-pointers made. Jean Felix (23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists), Will Conroy (15 points and 12 assists), and Cezary Trybanski (11 points) also finished in double-figures.
Next up for Tulsa, a Sunday afternoon matinee with the Eastern division leading Dakota Wizards. Tipoff is slated for 3 p.m., doors and Kid's Zone open at 2 p.m. The first 1,066 youth will receive a free ball and hoop set, courtesy of SemGroup and My41.
