Erie BayHawks News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania - The visiting Tulsa 66ers used a strong defensive effort to defeat the Erie BayHawks in a low scoring affair on Friday night at Tullio Arena, edging the home team by a score of 85-83.
The see-saw battle saw 17 lead changes and no team lead by more than six points. But Tulsa found an edge on the defensive end forcing 24 turnovers and converting those in to 23 points. Erie forced only 12 Tulsa turnovers for six points.
Tulsa's Marcus Lewis led the visitors with 25 points, including going 11 of 17 from the free throw line, and added 15 rebounds and 8 assists. Lewis was playing in his first game back since returning from the Milwaukee Bucks training camp. Brady Morningstar chipped in 20 points and Dwight Buycks, fresh from the Phoenix Suns training camp, dropped in 13 as Tulsa improved to 7-4.
Kyle Goldcamp, in his first game back since returning from the Cleveland Cavaliers training camp, notched a career high 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Erie, and Kyle Spain added 13 as Erie fell to 4-8.
Both teams have a few days off for the holidays with Erie returning to action on Wednesday to host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, and Tulsa returns home to host the Idaho Stampede on Thursday.
