Tulsa, Okla., April 4, 2007 - The Tulsa 66ers are hosting Fan Appreciation Night this Friday as the 66ers close out the home regular season schedule against the Austin Toros at Expo Square Pavilion. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
In addition to Fan Appreciation Night, the 66ers are also hosting NBA Nights presented by adidas. The 66ers will be wearing NO/OKC Hornets jerseys and the Toros will be in Houston Rockets jerseys. Ten (10) lucky fans will go home with a game-worn, autographed Hornets jersey.
In the VIP room, located on the Pavilion concourse, the 66ers will host the Tulsa 66ers Inaugural Silent Auction. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on 66ers autographed player jerseys and items from past NBA assignments. Bidding opens at 6 p.m. and closes at the end of the third quarter. All proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to the 66ers' official charity, the Laura Dester Shelter.
Fans not only get an opportunity to win a game-worn Hornets jersey, but also a chance to win other prizes including a $50 gift certificate to Kampai, passes to the PGA Championship practice round in August, a gift basket from the Oklahoma Aquarium and free burgers courtesy of Sonic Drive-In Inc.
The first 1,066 fans on Friday will receive a wind-up toy courtesy of Crown Bristow; a 66ers t-shirt courtesy of KWHB-47 and a water bottle courtesy of Garrett Law.
A pre-game press conference is scheduled to announce the 20 Greatest Players in Pavilion History. Early last season, the 66ers asked basketball fans to vote on the greatest players to have played basketball in the Pavilion. The announcement of the top 20 will come as Tulsa closes its 2006-07 home season. A ceremony will be held to honor the 20 Greatest in the 2007-08 season.
Friday night is also Oklahoma State Chamber night and members are encouraged to take advantage of the special 50-percent discount.
Doors and Kids' Zone will open at 6 p.m. All Tulsa 66ers official merchandise will be on sale at 50-percent off the regular price.
